No matter how great an outfit looks, the dreaded Visible Panty Line can ruin it (aka VPL). Yes, you could go commando to avoid dents, but as freeing as that might feel, it might not be the most comfortable (or hygienic) thing to do, especially if you're wearing a light dress.
There are a lot of easy solutions below, which is great. And, believe it or not, friend, you might not have to wear thongs. VPL can be a thing of the past unless you wear the right underwear and know a few style tricks (unless you like it, in which case, do you, girl!). Scroll down for the details.
1. Wear clothes that are thick or textured.
Like everyone else, I like a good silky, form-fitting dress. But they aren't always your friend when you're trying to hide panty lines. The fabric is just too smooth and sticks to itself. Reaching for thicker, more textured fabrics can help you hide any unwanted lines.

2. Put tights or pantyhose over your underwear.
Obviously, this is not a good idea in the summer, but when the weather starts to get cooler, a pair of tights or pantyhose can smooth out any unwanted lines so they don't show on your outer layer.

3. Use the tools that the pros use.
Fine. There's a reason why professional stylists only use thongs and G-strings. Even though they might not be as comfortable as your high-waisted, cheeky, or full-coverage pairs, they do get rid of annoying lines.

4. Also, stick-on thongs are a thing.

If you want to go even further than thongs (hello, slinky slip dress! ), you can use these underwear stickers. Some styles can even be washed and used again. Since these don't have a waistband, they're useful if you're wearing a dress with big side slits and a tight fit, like Bella Hadid here.
Just make sure that the one you choose has good reviews and won't fall off in the middle of your event.
5. If thongs are too much for you, try boyshorts.
Boyshorts are great because they don't cut across the curve of your butt cheek. Instead, they go right under it. A little lace hem can also help soften the line and make it less obvious.

6. Try some shapewear on.
Shapewear is a good way to make a smooth line under your clothes, but this probably wouldn't work for everyday wear. No one wants to put on shapewear every day. Also, don't wear anything too tight that hurts you. It's not worth it at all.
