Undoubtedly, Wool is an animal product. Aside from this, there are a few other reasons.
1. Sheep are neglected in factory farming
Factory farming is a brutal business. The sheep have to suffer for their milk, wool, and meat. They are crammed into narrow and dark stables until they are killed cruelly.

2. Because sheep are mistreated and mutilated for the wool
Most workers in wool production are paid by quantity. That is why animal welfare doesn't play a particularly important role for them. Because of that, the sheep have to suffer in their short lives. Not only during shearing which often causes cuts or the removal of important body parts.
A cruel practice that is known as Mulesing, which is basically removing the skin around the tail without any anesthesia. It is done by overbreeding in the area of moisture, which attracts flies and larvae that can eventually eat the animal from the inside.

3. Sheep normally don't need to be shorn
There is a misconception about “sheep need to get shearing”. But in fact, sheep shearing is ONLY NECESSARY because we have OVERBRED THE ANIMALS. Natural wool is much darker and not as voluminous as the wool we know. The brown wool was bred away and the white undercoat overbred. As a result, the animals have to carry up to 4.5 kg of wool on their bodies.

4. There are other alternatives to wool
There are many other fabric alternatives that we can use such as cotton, flannel, hemp, fleece, linen, ramie, seersucker, and many others.
